Wilson has provided comprehensive photo coverage of the State Theatre Center for the Arts Freddy Awards since its inception in 2003. In 2006, Wilson was designated as Photography Coordinator. Working with friend and colleague Tom Kosa, plus other selected photographers, well over 15,000 images have been created to date.

To commemorate the Freddy Awards fifth anniversary, the State Theater selected a number of photographs to be featured in their first ever gallery exhibit, which ran through May and June of this year. In addition to the gallery exhibit, Wilson and Tom appeared as presenters at the 2007 Freddy Awards, which was broadcast locally on Channel 69 as well as worldwide via the internet.

2007 also marks the second year Wilson has presented the Wilson Black Photography Technical Scholarship. This cash award goes to a highly qualified student who is pursuing a career in Technical Theater.
